AGL Energy Limited (AGL) is proud to be the naming sponsor for the 23rd AGL Nyngan Ag Expo and is looking forward to a very successful event on Saturday, 1 August 2015.

Building on our previous support of this event AGL has also committed to continuing as the naming rights sponsor of the annual Nyngan Ag Expo for the next two years.

AGL Project Manager for the Nyngan Solar Plant, Adam Mackett, said the AGL Nyngan Ag Expo is a major event on the community calendar and AGL is delighted to be involved again.

“Each year the Ag Expo has gone from strength to strength and we believe this year’s event will be no exception. It’s an ideal opportunity for locals and the regional community to come together and see new agricultural technology as well as other areas of interest such as motor vehicle displays, fashion and food.

“We strongly believe it’s important to support the communities in which we operate and are pleased that funds raised on the day of the expo will go to supporting community groups within the Nyngan and Bogan Shire area,” said Mr Mackett.

AGL will also be supporting this year’s NAIDOC Week in Nyngan with the AGL team helping out at the community day on Friday, 31 July 2015.

“With the 102 MW Nyngan Solar Plant achieving full generation last month we’re glad to be able to continue to play an active role within the local community.

“We are especially pleased the project, which we have delivered in partnership with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, the NSW Government, Bogan Shire Council and the local community, as well project construction partner First Solar, has provided many local workers with the opportunity to enhance their skills as well as provide an economic boost to the regional economy,” explained Mr Mackett.
