AGL releases FY15 Sustainability Report
AGL Energy Limited (AGL) today released its FY2015 Sustainability Report, which provides a transparent account of AGL’s performance in relation to the social, environmental and economic challenges facing the company and the energy industry.
Managing Director & CEO, Andy Vesey, said that AGL undertook a number of initiatives during FY2015 which highlight AGL’s commitment to being a responsible energy provider and good corporate citizen.
“As part of our Affordability Initiative, we significantly improved our products, services and engagement to better support our vulnerable customers,” he said.
AGL also released a revised Greenhouse Gas Policy during the year. It highlights that long-term and integrated energy policies are required if energy markets are to continue to deliver secure, reliable and affordable energy, while contributing to Australia’s climate change objectives.
“We continue to advocate for constructive public policy at a time of significant energy market transformation,” said Mr Vesey.
The report details AGL’s performance during the year ended 30 June 2015, as well as highlighting some of AGL’s more recent initiatives, including a revised political donations policy and climate change advocacy work.
All sustainability performance data can also be viewed from a centralised data centre in interactive charts, and can be easily downloaded.
The report can be accessed at www.agl.com.au/sustainability
AGL encourages all stakeholders to engage with AGL about sustainable business performance through the AGL blog (www.aglblog.com.au) and other social media channels listed in the report.
AGL was one of the first ASX-listed companies to produce a sustainability report and last year won the Australian Sustainability Reporting Award – Private Sector and the ARA-Hong Kong Sustainability Award for Sustainability Reporting at the Australasian Reporting Awards.
