Employees at AGL’s Liddell and Bayswater power stations have been spreading the spirit of the holiday season this week.

Donations of cash and presents have been collected to help Upper Hunter charities and the people they support over the Christmas period.

AGL Macquarie's General Manager said the response from employees at Liddell and Bayswater has been amazing.

“Our people are always generous and willing to give their support to great causes.

“We often raise money to help local organisations, but the response this Christmas has been overwhelming.

“A group of employees made a cash donation of over $6000 to St Vincent de Paul Society in Muswellbrook, and through our AGL corporate responsibility program, this donation has been topped up to over $10,000.

“We have also had a Christmas Giving Tree at Liddell and Bayswater, collecting presents for Upper Hunter Community Services Inc.

“And last week our AGL Macquarie Social Club members donated hundreds of toys for Christmas stockings being distributed by Upper Hunter charities, including the Muswellbrook PCYC.

“Some of our leaders spent a few hours last week selecting presents for different age groups, and wrapping them, as best they could, ready to go under a Christmas tree.

“We hope our donations make a difference, and bring some joy to people in our local communities."

The donations and toys have been delivered, ready for distribution over Christmas.
