About the projects

In August 2024, AGL announced the acquisition of Firm Power and Terrain Solar. Firm Power was a battery project developer and Terrain Solar was a solar project developer. Following the acquisition, AGL has several proposed battery and solar projects underway. 

Pipeline projects

Abermain Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 125 megawatts (MW) in the City of Ipswich in Queensland.

The Abermain Battery obtained development approval in November 2023, following assessment by Ipswich City Council. 

The Town Planning Report for the Abermain Battery project and supporting documents can be viewed on the Ipswich City Council development portal.

Aramara Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 200 megawatts (MW) capacity at North Aramara in Queensland. 

Awaba Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 50 megawatts (MW) capacity in the Lake Macquarie region of NSW.

The Awaba Battery obtained development approval in December 2023, following assessment by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment. 

The Environmental Impact Statement for the Awaba Battery project and supporting documents can be viewed on the NSW Major Projects Planning  Portal.

Bathurst Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 500 megawatts (MW) in the Bathurst Regional Council area of NSW.

Beermullah Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 300 megawatts (MW) along Brand Highway at Beermullah in WA. 

Beresfield Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 170 megawatts (MW) near Newcastle in NSW.

The Beresfield Battery obtained development approval in December 2023, following assessment by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.

Glen Innes Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 150 megawatts (MW) in the New England region of NSW.

Kangaroo Valley Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 400 megawatts at Kangaroo Valley in NSW. The location for the proposed battery is along Bendeela Road.

Kondinin Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 50 megawatts (MW) at Kondinin in WA. 

Monash Energy Park Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 200 megawatts (MW) at Monash in South Australia. The proposed battery is located near Renmark, close to the South Australian and Victorian border.  

Mount Britton Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 500 megawatts (MW) at Nebo in Queensland. The location for the proposed battery is along Suttor Developmental Road. 

Murrumburrah Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 100 megawatts (MW) in the South East and Tablelands region of NSW. 

Muswellbrook Battery

A proposed battery of approximately 150 megawatts (MW) at Muswellbrook in NSW, in the Upper Hunter region.

The Muswellbrook Battery obtained development approval in July 2023, following assessment by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment. 

The Environmental Impact Statement for the Muswellbrook Battery project and supporting documents can be viewed on the NSW Major Projects Planning Portal. 

AGL is engaging with the community and relevant stakeholders in the various regions about these proposed projects.
