Summer savings for Queenslanders with AGL
This summer Queenslanders can take the heat out of their electricity bills by taking up a great new energy plan from AGL Energy Limited (AGL).
Eligible residential customers who sign up to the new plan can enjoy 10 percent off AGL’s electricity market rate usage charges, when they pay their bill in full and on time.
Customers will also have access to around-the-clock customer service and My AGL IQ, a free online energy monitoring tool that lets customers compare and track their energy usage.
General Manager Marketing and Retail Sales, Mark Brownfield said Queenslanders can expect to see further benefits into 2015 with electricity price deregulation in July to facilitate competition, investment and improved service for customers.
"AGL welcomes the Government's amendments to the Electricity Act 1994 to introduce market monitoring from July 2015.
"We are pleased to offer double-digit electricity discounts to Queensland customers now and look forward to delivering more offers and services to customers later this year," said Mr Brownfield.
A recent Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) report found that customers in South East Queensland were looking for more choice (1)
The AEMC report also suggested and that Queensland electricity customers would benefit from the removal of electricity retail price regulation, because it was likely to drive greater rivalry between retailers and more choice for customers.
