Jackie Shervington has been appointed WA State Manager for AGL as the company continues to build its business in the Western Australian gas market.

Ms Shervington, who moves into the new role from her current position of Partnership Manager on 19 November, replaces Head of Western Australia Natalie Edwards who returns to AGL’s Melbourne office to take on a new role.

AGL General Manager Sales Kellie Benda said this appointment reflected the natural evolution of the AGL business in Western Australia and the company’s commitment to the state.

“Now that we have built a strong base with the infrastructure needed to continue to drive AGL’s growth ambitions we can move to the next stage of our evolution by combining our work building WA strategic partnerships with responsibility for leading our presence on the ground,” Ms Benda said.

“Under Natalie’s leadership we launched into the market in July 2017, established a Perth office, assembled a local team, and built awareness of the AGL brand while lifting customer numbers despite intense competition from the incumbents and more recent entrants.

“As a proud Western Australian, Jackie will leverage her extensive stakeholder network to ensure we continue to increase customer numbers by ensuring our service offering remains competitive and innovative.

“Since joining AGL in February 2018 Jackie has built strategic alliances with a number of partners including WA Seniors and Have a Go News, a lifestyle newspaper for mature Western Australians.”

Ms Shervington said she enthusiastically welcomed the appointment and together with the WA team was optimistic about the potential of AGL in Western Australia.

“Now that we have built a strong foundation for the business we can move onto building more and deeper relationships in the WA community while continuing to offer gas consumers more choice,” she said.

“We recognise the issues that Western Australians are passionate about and the causes they like to support, which is why we have established partnerships with a number of organisations in the state.

“Among them are our partnership with the West Coast Eagles, our support for Surf Life Saving WA through funding and equipment donations, and our donations to Foodbank WA to help combat hunger in the WA community.

“We’ve also been supporting seniors in the state this month by partnering with Have A Go News at the Have A Go Day, A LiveLighter Event as part of 2018 Seniors Week and sponsoring the Seniors Film Festival.

“At the same time customers continue to benefit from our competitive pricing, online account management, flexible billing options, fixed or variable rates, rewards and product innovations like submitting their own meter reads.”
