The Crown

Following the remarkable life of Queen Elizabeth, The Crown has delivered the intrigue, drama and beauty of the Royal Family into the homes of millions since its November 2016 debut. Now this critically acclaimed look at the monarchy wraps up with its sixth and final season, in which a relationship blossoms between Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) and Dodi Fayed (Khalid Abdalla) before a fateful car journey has devastating consequences.

After the tragedy, we follow Prince William (Ed McVey) as he tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother’s death – all while the monarchy rides the wave of public opinion. Meanwhile, as she reaches her Golden Jubilee, the Queen (Imelda Staunton) reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles (Dominic West) and Camilla (Olivia Williams) and the beginning of a new Royal fairy-tale in the form of William and Kate’s (Meg Ballamy) burgeoning relationship.

Stranger Things

Created by the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things has become one of the biggest pieces of pop culture in streaming history since its 2016 debut.

The fourth season, released in May 2022, amassed more than 140.7 million views globally. And its impact extends far beyond the screen thanks to its respect and reverence for ‘80s nostalgia. The show has singlehandedly sparked a resurgence of interest in pop culture touchpoints from years past, including everything from Eggo waffles to New Coke. The series also breathed new life into Kate Bush’s 1985 hit Running Up That Hill, with fans streaming the song into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time. And Stranger Things fans everywhere celebrate November 6 — the day Will Byers went missing — as ‘Stranger Things Day’, during which they share their love for the show.

The series has been nominated for more than 230 awards worldwide and taken home more than 70, including multiple Emmys and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

When the series wraps with its fifth and final season, you’ll want to have your ultimate streaming setup sorted for maximum enjoyment.

Bridgerton

Inspired by Julia Quinn's bestselling novels, this series follows the eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family as they look for love and happiness in London’s high society. Set in the elegant backdrop of the Regency Era, the styling of the series is just as gorgeous and enthralling as the performances of Colin (Luke Newton), Penelope (Nicola Coughlin) and the rest of the cast. Just make sure you exercise the Netflix parental controls when you watch this one.

Boy Swallows Universe

Trent Dalton’s international best-seller gets the well-deserved mini-series treatment when Boy Swallows Universe hits streaming screens to explore the crossroads where a boy becomes a man, good toys with evil and the everyday meets the extraordinary.

An epic coming-of-age tale set in 1980s Brisbane, this beloved story blends the magic and innocence of youth with the brutal reality of becoming an adult. Eli Bell’s world is full of complex characters, from his lost father, mute brother and recovering addict mum to his heroin dealer stepfather and notorious criminal babysitter. Watch as Eli follows his heart to navigate the obstacles fate throws in his way – all in the pursuit of understanding what it means to become a good man.

Rebel Moon

The first movie in director Zack Snyder’s two-part space saga introduces us to Kora (Sofia Boutella), a stranger with a mysterious past who begins a new life among a quiet settlement of farmers after crash landing on the moon Veldt.

Her new home soon becomes anything but peaceful when the Motherworld’s tyrannical Regent Balisarius (Fra Fee) and his cruel emissary, Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein), discover the farmers have unwittingly sold crops to the Bloodaxes (Cleopatra Coleman and Ray Fisher) – leaders of a fierce group of insurgents hunted by the Motherworld.

Now Veldt’s only hope for survival, Kora sets out with tender hearted farmer Gunnar (Michiel Huisman) to build a group of brave defenders and search for the Bloodaxes. On an epic journey to different worlds, they assemble a band of warriors who share a common need for redemption along the way: Kai (Charlie Hunnam), a pilot and gun for hire; General Titus (Djimon Hounsou), a legendary commander; Nemesis (Doona Bae), a master swordswoman; Tarak (Staz Nair), a captive with a regal past; and Milius (E. Duffy), a resistance fighter. Meanwhile on Veldt, an ancient, mechanised protector (voiced by Anthony Hopkins) hiding in the wings awakens with a new purpose.

Will the newly formed band of revolutionaries learn to trust each other and fight as one before the armies of the Motherworld come to destroy them all?
