Using the AGL app

How to view bills, make payments, view and compare your electricity usage, submit a gas meter read and more with the AGL app.

Download and log in

The AGL app is available for all customers to download on a compatible device.

When you’ve downloaded the app, use your AGL online account details to log in. If you do not have one, it’s easy to register for an AGL online account.

Billing and payments

Download PDFs of your latest and past bills, easily make payments and get bill projections to help you budget.

View energy usage and insights

If you have a smart meter, you can view your electricity usage by month, day and hour with the AGL app. Plus, look for usage patterns and your average usage over time to find opportunities to save.


Submit a self-service meter read

  1. In the Overview tab of the AGL app, select Electricity or Gas.
  2. Select Send a meter read.
  3. Enter your meter reading, including any zeroes before the numbers.
  4. Select Send this reading to finish submitting your meter read.

If you enter an incorrect read, we may ask you to send us a photo for verification. To send us a photo, select the chat icon in the top right of your app screen and start chatting with a team member.

Contact AGL through the app

In the Overview tab, select the blue and white chat icon in the top right corner. Our AGL Assistant will provide support and connect you to a human if needed.

Contacting us through the app is quick and easy. It also means we already have your account details when you start chatting, and can get straight into providing the right support.
