Monitor your solar system’s performance 24/7
Solar Status is a free service that monitors your solar system’s performance and helps identify potential issues that could decrease your energy generation and savings.
To calculate your status, we take into account your net export and import solar energy data from your home’s smart meter for at least the last 30 days. We then use this data to assess how your solar system is performing against expectation. Allowances are also made for changes in weather.
If there’s a significant reduction in your solar exports over 9 days your status will change to Red.
There are 4 Solar statuses available:
It can take up to 30 days for new solar customers to get Solar Status. Once you turn on your service, we need to access your home's smart meter data for the last 30 days, then run this through our algorithm, along with other reference sets, to determine your Solar Status. We'll then update this daily to keep you informed.
If you are a new customer to AGL, we may not have access to your historical usage data and will need to build this 30-day data set from scratch.
If we already have your last 30 days of data, it may take up to 24 hours for your first status to come through.

Your system status is based on the last 7 days of data from your home's smart meter and other reference data. This means if there’s a substantial change in the smart meter data, such as your solar system being turned off, this will take up to 7 days to be reflected in the system status.
If any of your rooftop solar panels are damaged, we recommend you contact a technician to investigate, as this may impact the current and future efficiency of your solar system.
Depending on the timing of the damage, you may continue to see a Green Status ongoing or for up to 7 days.
The Clean Energy Council suggests that owners of solar systems learn basic safety operations and take responsibility for proper maintenance. Your installer should provide a maintenance schedule to help you with this. Maintenance is necessary to ensure:
