In our submission, AGL supports the development of a framework for managing the closure of significant thermal generators in order to support a smooth transition to a lower emissions intensity grid.  However, we highlight several concerns in the prescriptive nature of the proposed framework.  Given the limited number of sites that the proposed framework would apply to, we support greater flexibility in ensuring any mechanisms that would support a significant asset that would otherwise close meets the needs of that asset, while not more broadly impacting the energy market.
