AGL welcomes the opportunity to provide comments on IPART’s consultation on the draft Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) Method Guide.

This consultation seeks feedback on the draft PDRS Method Guide, in particular the proposed evidence requirements for new battery activities (BESS1 and BESS2). This Method Guide will apply to all implementations on or after 1 August 2024.

AGL broadly supports the PDRS and believes that it has an important role to play in Australia’s energy transition. AGL’s submission provided feedback on the evidence requirements for BESS1 and BESS2 scheme activities, while also raising some specific points that we consider require further clarification in the final Method Guide or separate guidance documentation.
