AGL Energy Ltd (AGL) is proud to announce sculptors Karen Farrell and Amanda Hale as the winners of the 2014 HarbourSculpture People’s Choice Award for their sculpture, ‘Meeting Place’.

Karen Farrell and Amanda Hale are now two-time winners of the award, having also won the inaugural People’s Choice prize in 2013. They will receive a $2,000 prize from AGL.

Karen Farrell and Amanda Hale said, “We are passionate about public sculpture and are grateful to HarbourSculpture for the opportunity to exhibit in such a wonderful and inclusive event in Sydney.”

AGL’s General Manager, Marketing and Retail Sales, Mark Brownfield, said that AGL is proud to support a local community initiative and the team of volunteers who organise the annual exhibition.

“We would like to congratulate this year’s AGL’s People’s Choice Award winners Karen Farrell and Amanda Hale. ‘ Meeting Place’ is an arresting piece of work, particularly when set against the backdrop of the Sydney Harbour.

“AGL aims to have an active presence within local communities and is proud to be a partner of the HarbourSculpture exhibition,” said Mr Brownfield.

HarbourSculpture is a unique exhibition of sculpture, held annually on Sydney Harbour in July.  Sculptures by some of Australia’s most prominent and emerging artists were spread across Clarkes Point Reserve and the Deckhouse function centre.  AGL’s People’s Choice Award is voted for by attendees during the 10 days of the exhibition.
