AGL Energy Limited (AGL) today launched a new online water portal, a one-stop-shop for water data that will give the community greater access to information about water resources across AGL’s coal seam gas projects in NSW.

The AGL water portal will enable the community to check the levels and quality of surface and groundwater in the areas around our Camden, Hunter and Gloucester gas projects by simply visiting the website.

The portal includes data from 86 surface and groundwater monitoring points.

Some of the monitoring points include daily live data on the water level, electrical conductivity - a key measure of salinity - and recent water quality.

Viewers will also be able to see 360-degree photos of the landscape near our monitoring sites and up-to-date weather information at Gloucester and in the Hunter.

“At AGL we possess a wealth of water data and this portal helps us to present it in an accessible, understandable and intuitive way,” said John Ross, Manager of Hydrogeology.

“For Gloucester in particular, the community can monitor groundwater before, during and after exploration projects such as the Waukivory Pilot.

“The community has told us they want to see their water protected. We have responded by not only conducting thorough monitoring, but putting the results right at peoples' fingertips.

“This tool will make it easier for people to find out about water in their local area and monitor it over time.”
