AGL secures long-term gas transportation with Eastern Gas Pipeline agreement
AGL Energy Limited (AGL) today announced it has entered into a Gas Transportation Agreement (GTA) with Jemena Eastern Gas Pipeline Pty Ltd (Jemena) to purchase pipeline capacity on the Eastern Gas Pipeline (EGP) over 15 years, commencing in 2016. This GTA helps underpin the midline compression capacity expansion of the EGP and enabled AGL to secure competitive foundation customer haulage tariffs to NSW and ACT.
The GTA, together with existing contracted pipeline capacities, positions AGL with flexible haulage capability to move contracted Victorian gas to meet customers requirements in the NSW and ACT to at least 2020.
The GTA, together with AGL’s recently announced supply purchasing agreement from the Bass Strait and the development of the Gloucester Gas Project, supports AGL’s commitment to secure supply arrangements for its customers in the NSW and ACT regions well into the next decade.
