Nine Gloucester region groups awarded AGL Local Community Investment Program grants
AGL Energy Limited (AGL) has announced the nine recipients of the first round of its 2016 Local Community Investment Program (LCIP) grants.
AGL’s Executive General Manager Stakeholder Relations, Jeni Coutts, said that while the company has halted its gas exploration activities in the region and is commencing rehabilitation of its wells, support for the local community is ongoing.
“We are committed to making a positive contribution in the regions where we operate and have been providing LCIP grants twice each year since 2014. Each round has been worth more than $30,000 and the funds have gone to a range of projects that benefit the community, develop local capacity and are sustainable into the future,” Ms Coutts said.
The recipients of the February application round for 2016 are:
- Gloucester Country Club water resource project: Increasing the water holding capacity of the Club’s golf course.
- Gloucester Wormi First People’s Aboriginal Corporation: Funding towards NAIDOC week celebrations and a school dance in partnership with Gloucester Public School.
- Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Centre: Support for development of the Centre’s “Getting our service out there” communication program.
