AGL continues to support the Camden Show
AGL Energy Limited (AGL) is supporting the 2017 Camden Show as the Grand Champion sponsor of the Beef Cattle and Woodchop competition. The show is on Friday 31 March and Saturday 1 April, at the Camden Showground.
AGL Head of Government and Community Relations, Tony Chappel said: “This is AGL’s fourth year of supporting the show and we are proud to be a part of such a wonderful event. Our involvement with the show and other community activities in the Macarthur region is part of our ongoing commitment to the Macarthur community.
“In the last nine months we have contributed over $22,000 to community events and groups in the local region. We’re also aware of the contribution our projects can make more broadly to the communities in which we operate. The Camden Gas Project, which has been safely supplying around five percent of NSW’s gas needs since 2001, employs 28 people and in the last few years has injected more than five million dollars into the local economy.” said Mr Chappel.
In February 2016, AGL announced it will progressively decommission wells and rehabilitate sites at the Camden Gas Project prior to ceasing production in 2023. Seventeen wells will be decommissioned in 2017-18.
AGL maintains a strong commitment to the safe and environmentally responsible operation of the Camden Gas Project. It will continue to support the Macarthur community and aims to leave a positive legacy for the community.
