AGL kicks more goals as it signs up with AFL Premiers for two more years
AGL today announced it had extended its partnership with Australian Football League (AFL) 2018 Premiers the West Coast Eagles for two years.
AGL General Manager Customer Markets Kellie Benda said AGL would continue to be the official shorts sponsor of the Eagles until the end of the 2020 AFL season.
“Since we began our association with West Coast on July 2017 when we entered the WA retail gas market, our partnership has generated high levels of brand awareness,” Ms Benda said.
“We are committed to delivering the same passion and competition the Eagles bring to the AFL to our WA gas customers.
“We are also pleased to have welcomed Eagles fans and members as customers under our special AGL West Coast Eagles gas plan.
“It’s exciting to have the Eagles’ star midfielder Andrew Gaff back in 2019 as our player ambassador in a role he has held since the partnership commenced.”
Ms Benda said AGL remained committed to Western Australia and growing its business in the state.
“We have created a foothold in the WA gas market as a retailer with around 35,000 customers and also as a purchaser of gas,” she said.
“We are proud to demonstrate our commitment to the WA community through our partnership with the Eagles, complemented by our community partnership with Surf Lifesaving WA. Through this partnership AGL donates funding and equipment to all 31 surf life saving clubs across WA.”
West Coast Eagles chief executive Trevor Nisbett said the club was excited to continue its strong relationship with AGL.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with AGL,” he said.
“Since our partnership started in 2017, we believe the relationship has not only been beneficial for both parties, but more importantly the WA community.
“We look forward to building the partnership further over the next two years.”
