AGL supports flood affected communities in Hunter and south west Sydney
AGL has donated $60,000 to support the Salvation Army’s efforts in assisting communities in New South Wales impacted by flooding in July 2022.
The donation will go directly to community members in the Hunter and south-west Sydney through a financial hardship grants program, as well as support services provided by the Outreach team.
AGL Chief Customer Officer, Jo Egan, said AGL is committed to supporting customers and impacted local communities through the difficult recovery.
“It has been a difficult year for our customers and communities across New South Wales and Queensland impacted by the floods and AGL is here to support families and individuals as they rebuild their homes and recover.
“We know the impact can continue long after the flood waters recede, and the recovery period is just as challenging for our customers. That’s why we donated $60,000 to the Salvation Army’s Disaster Relief Fund.
“This contribution will support The Salvation Army to help more than 600 families in the impacted regions with financial hardship grants, services and dedicated Outreach teams who provide tailored support programs based on individual circumstances.”
Salvation Army Public Relations Secretary, Major David Collinson, thanked AGL for providing much-needed relief to local communities in south-west Sydney and the Hunter.
“Thank you to AGL for their generous donation of $60,000 to our work in helping those impacted by floods in the Hunter and south west Sydney. We really appreciate your practical support that allows us to continue to assist those experiencing hardship and loss.”
This donation comes after AGL provided $100,000 to the Salvation Army earlier this year to support impacted communities in northern New South Wales and southern Queensland.
