Our people are the foundation to our success

Empowering them underpins everything we do.

Keeping our people safe and healthy, while developing a purpose-driven workforce of the future

At AGL, we recognise the importance of attracting, developing and retaining the right people to help us to deliver value for our customers, investors, stakeholders and the communities in which we operate. We achieve this by building a safe and inclusive, purpose-driven and values-led culture.

HSE Risk Management

Our approach to health, safety and environmental (HSE) risk management includes health and safety leadership capability education programs, specific operational engineered solutions and controls for our key operational risks, and psycho-social safety awareness programs across the enterprise to manage this emerging risk. Risk assessments play a crucial role in our HSE strategy, ensuring that a robust set of controls is available to workers across various hazard areas.

HSE Assurance

We’ve embedded assurance processes such as Critical Control Checks, HSE conversations, HSE interactions and hazard reporting to support our proactive approach to safety. We provide effective systems and processes to put HSE in the hands of all our people.

People and culture

As reflected in our company strategy, our people are the foundation of our success. The demand for talent to support the energy transition means that engaging and harnessing diverse, adaptable and skilled talent is a strategic priority for us.

Our stories

Shining bright: AGL celebrates Platinum Employer status

Members from AGL Shine, our LGBTQ+ employee network, were proud to receive 2024 Platinum Employer status at the Australian Workplace Equality Index’s (AWEI) LGBTQ+ Inclusion Awards in Sydney.

The Platinum award is the highest obtainable recognition within the AWEI (a national standard on LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion benchmarks) and is another great example of our values in action to create a safer and more supportive culture for our gender diverse community, which has important benefits for our customers too.

The award follows AGL’s Platinum Employer status at the end of 2022 in recognition of our work to introduce gender neutral titles for our customers.
