What are Retail PPAs and LGCs?

Retail Power Purchase Agreements

Retail PPAs are bespoke electricity sale agreements offering electricity supply coupled with LGC purchases. In some cases, Retail PPAs provide long-term price certainty and linkages to specific renewable assets in AGL’s portfolio.

Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs)

LGCs are certificates that are created from electricity generated by accredited renewable generators. Energy retailers procure and retire LGCs to meet their liabilities under the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target (LRET), but you can also purchase additional LGCs to voluntarily reduce the Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions indirectly associated with the electricity you consume from the network.

Work towards your sustainability goals

Eligibility

AGL’s Retail PPAs are available to customers consuming more than 50GWh per year and subject to the capacity of AGL's renewable generation assets.

Certainty

We offer short and long-term pricing options, providing certainty with competitive prices.

Net zero

Our Retail PPAs have flexible voluntary LGC purchase options to reduce the Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions indirectly associated with the electricity you consume from the network and help your business meet its decarbonisation goals and commitments.
