AGL welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the Exposure Draft of the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Amendment (2024 Measures No.2) Rules 2024.

The Exposure Draft requires the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) to publish additional Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) Scheme project data and information on the CER’s website. These changes will strengthen transparency of the ACCU Scheme and help further build public trust in the ACCU Scheme as recommended by the 2022 Independent Review of ACCUs.

AGL supports improved transparency changes to the ACCU Scheme outlined in the Exposure Draft, and provides some suggestions for improvements relating to clarification of information requirements, as well as publication of additional information not currently included in the Exposure Draft.
