Change contact details, account name and authorised person

Learn how to change your contact details, account name and the authorised person on your account.

Update contact details

My Account

To update your email address or mobile number in My Account:

  1. Select your name in the top right corner, then Profile.

  2. In the Personal Details tab, go to Email or Mobile and select Edit.

  3. Update your email address or mobile number and select Update Contact Details.

To update your mailing address in My Account:

  1. Select your name in the top right corner, then Profile.

  2. In the Personal Details tab go to Mailing address and select Chat.

  3. The chat window will open, and our Virtual Assistant will help you update your mailing address.

AGL app

To update your email address or mobile number in the AGL app:

  1. Go to Account then Settings then Contact Details.

  2. Update your email address or mobile number and select Update Contact Details.

Update personal details

Name, title or date of birth

To update or correct your name, title or date of birth, we need to first confirm your identity. For us to do this, please contact us.

New address

If you're moving home and want to connect an AGL energy supply or internet to your new address, visit Move house.

Deceased estate

For information on how to manage the account of someone who has passed away, visit Deceased estates.

Change account name

If there's an existing AGL internet or energy supply to a property that you want to transfer from one account holder to another, the new account holder needs to sign up to a plan with AGL using their details. Doing this will automatically cancel the old account and the account with the new account holder will start.

Add or remove an authorised person

You can add contacts like your wife, husband, partner or carer to your energy account or remove them as an authorised person. By adding them, this means they can make changes to your account, including disconnecting the supply. They won't be able to add new products or connections and they won't be listed on the bill, as only one person can be listed on an account.

To add or remove an authorised person in My Account:

  1. Select your name in the top right corner, then select Profile.

  2. Go to Account Authorisation and select Edit.

  3. Select Add New Authorised Person and enter their details or select Remove to remove an authorised person.

If you have internet or mobile products, or are an AGL for Business customer, you won't be able to follow these steps. To update the authorised persons on your account, contact us.

If you want to have a power of attorney, court-appointed authority, state trustee or a financial counsellor added to your account as an authorised contact, you can find out what your options are by contacting us.
