AGL Submission to the AEMC's Review of Regulatory Arrangements for Embedded Networks

Today, AGL has made a submission to the AEMC's Review of Regulatory Arrangements for Embedded Networks. The Review looks at a broad range of issues related to the regulatory framework for embedded networks, including:
** whether the current exemptions framework remains fit for purpose;
** consideration of the outstanding barriers preventing embedded network customers from accessing competitive retail offers; and
** what the appropriate consumer protection arrangements for off-market and on-market embedded network customers should cover.

The Review follows on from the AEMC's Embedded Network Rule 2015, which, introduced a new Registered Participant function, the Embedded Network Manager role, to manage market interface arrangements for embedded network customers taking up a retail offer.
