In 2017, the COAG Energy Council requested that industry, consumer groups and other stakeholders develop an industry-wide Code of Conduct proposing consumer protections for customers acquiring new energy products and services.
The Behind the Meter Working Group (BTMWG) was established to develop the Behind the Meter Distributed Energy Resources Provider Code (BTM Code).
The BTMWG comprises the Australian Energy Council, Clean Energy Council, Consumer Action Law Centre, Energy Consumers Australia, Energy Networks Australia, the Public Interest Advocacy Centre, Renew and the Smart Energy Council.
The BTMWG released the draft BTM Code for industry consultation in late 2018. AGL made a submission in response to the draft BTM Code, a copy of which is available here.
