In March 2019, AGL made a submission to the Energy Security Board on whether the role of the AER should be expanded to include monitoring of the financial contract markets. AGL did not consider it the AERs responsibility to take on a broader monitoring role of contract markets, given the ASIC’s existing functions and powers.
