AGL’s submission to ESCOSA’s review of generation licence arrangements

On 12 July 2019, AGL made a submission on the Essential Services Commission of South Australia’s (ESCOSA) review of electricity generation licensing arrangements for South Australia.

We support a move towards harmonisation with the technical standards for generators that are contained in the National Electricity Rules (NER). ESCOSA could go further by removing South Australian specific technical requirements for generators on the basis that the NER provide a robust framework for assessing a generator’s technical capability, with the flexibility to account for different types of generation technology that may seek to connect to the National Electricity Market.

The submission is available here.
