AGL supports the Australian Energy Market Commission's (AEMC's) draft Rule to capture distributed energy resource (DER) technical standards as part of the National Electricity Rules (NER). AGL's submission advocates that the AEMC is best positioned to evaluate how DER technical standards can balance the need to keep the electricity network safe and reliable but also avoid unintended and negative customer impacts from having their investment in solar, home batteries and EVs devalued through technical standards inadvertently curtailing the capacity of the DER assets.
