AGL responds to the Victorian Renewable Energy Zones Development Plan Directions Paper

AGL has made a submission to the Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning regarding the development of Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) in Victoria.

The submission encourages alignment of the new proposed VicGrid REZ planning body and AEMO, and suggests that VicGrid could serve a role in facilitating connection negotiations. The submission also suggests that the Victorian Government use REZ development funds for transmission augmentation and for competitive tender procurement of system services, rather than for directly funding grid-scale batteries and synchronous condensers, so as to minimise government intervention in existing markets for energy and system services.

AGL's submission is here.
