AGL considers mandatory PFR as inefficient and advocates for a market-driven incentive mechanism. The rule mandates bidirectional units to provide PFR starting June 2024 when generating electricity, and from June 2025 when consuming electricity or providing regulation services. AGL supports these requirements during active periods as these units will already be following system frequency. However, mandatory PFR when units are at rest is opposed to avoid unnecessary wear and tear. This approach aligns with AGL’s commitment to efficient, sustainable energy solutions.
