In our submission, AGL emphasises the importance of AEMO’s Integrated System Plan. The plan is a crucial document in managing the transition towards net zero at the least cost, while also providing secure, reliable and affordable energy to consumers. AGL states that Australia’s energy transition is essential. The shift to renewables is well underway, and real benefits will be delivered to households, businesses and the broader economy. That said, it is also exceptionally complex with many inherent tensions that must be managed. AEMO’s Draft 2024 Integrated System Plan provides useful insights as to how targets can be achieved.
