To support the Energy Security Board’s (ESB) delivery of the Post-2025 market reforms, the ESB has established a Customer Insights Collaboration that seeks to leverage insights on barriers and enablers to customers being rewarded for flexibility from their distributed energy resources (DER) and flexible energy use. To inform this work the ESB issued a call for evidence to customer groups, industry stakeholders, research institutions and interested parties.

AGL made a formal submission to the ESB, elaborating a range of insights that we would recommend for consideration, including with respect to:

  1. Regulatory and market reform to unlock value and choice for customers;
  2. Wholesale market settings to support flexibility; and
  3. Fit-for-purpose consumer protections to improve experience for all consumers.
